Biography
Evangeline Gomez is Counsel to the firm Fahy Choi LLC. She is an experienced and regularly quoted attorney who represents individuals in domestic and international family law matters in addition to small businesses, non-profits and tax-exempt entities in transactional and litigation matters. Ms. Gomez provides trainings to boards of non-profit and tax-exempt entities on the topic of fiduciary duties & corporate governance. Evangeline Gomez was named by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of the top “40 attorneys under the age of 40” (2011), which recognizes the top 40 attorneys in New Jersey under 40 years of age.
Ms. Gomez recently was recognized as a Woman of Distinction by the Passaic County Community College Foundation and honored for her professional success, extraordinary commitment to surrounding communities and for serving as a positive role model for Passaic County Community College students. Ms. Gomez also was the recipient of the 2011 Women of Achievement Award for the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey. The award is given to outstanding women who have had remarkable accomplishments in their lives and who serve as excellent role models for girls and future leaders.
Ms. Gomez donates her time and support to many charitable organizations. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Rutgers University. She was recently appointed to the Steering Group of the International Family Law Committee of the ABA. Ms. Gomez is the co-founder of Student Achievement Network, a charity that provides mentoring opportunities to junior and high school students. She served as the Chair of the Paterson Education Fund and a member of the Board of Trustees of Hyacinth AIDS Foundation.

Ms. Gomez graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Political Science and earned her law degree from Rutgers School of Law-Newark. While in law school, she was Articles Editor of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter, a legal journal. Ms. Gomez's work has included numeorus appeals, including a published decision, Division of Youth & Family Services of New Jersey v. D.H., 398 N.J. Super. 333 (App. Div. 2008). Ms. Gomez is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and the United States District Court of New Jersey.
